Middle School Math Special Education Teacher

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Middle School Math Special Education Teacher in Clinton Township, MI, to provide individualized instruction, strengthen foundational math skills, and support students’ academic growth in a resource classroom setting.
Position Overview
- Provide targeted, direct mathematics instruction to middle school students receiving special education resource services, focusing on foundational skills and academic growth.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including math-specific goals, accommodations, and student progress.
- Adapt and modify the general education math curriculum to meet diverse learning needs and individual instructional levels.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to assess student needs, track progress, and promote academic success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Valid Michigan Standard or Professional Teaching Certificate with an appropriate elementary education endorsement or approved grade-band certification
- Valid Michigan K–12 special education endorsement, such as Learning Disabilities (SM), Cognitive Impairment (SA), Emotional Impairment (SE), or Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV)
- Meets Michigan Department of Education requirements for providing direct middle school mathematics instruction through an appropriate math endorsement or demonstrated mathematics content competency
