About the role
We're looking for a middle software engineer to join a small team building a product management ecosystem in the defense sector. You'll work on internal tooling, deployment workflows, and backend services, with room to grow into ownership of your own areas.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain internal deployment and product management tooling
Build backend services and APIs in Python
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
Work with Docker-based build and deployment workflows
Participate in code reviews and help maintain technical quality
Write technical documentation for the features you build
Requirements
2+ years of commercial Python experience: async, threads, concurrent programming
Experience with Python web frameworks (FastAPI preferred)
Solid understanding of Docker and containerization
Linux: systemd, journald, containers, confident CLI usage
Networking fundamentals: HTTP(S), SSH, WebSocket
Understanding of client-server architecture and API design
Databases and ACID fundamentals
English for technical communication (reading docs, written async communication)
Nice to have
Cloud or on-premise infrastructure experience
Bare-metal / Raspberry Pi / embedded Linux (firmware flashing, secure boot)
Information security fundamentals
Python deployment optimization
Experience with ArduPilot or other autopilot stacks
