Middle to Senior Python Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Middle to Senior Python Developer based in Ireland.

This role offers the opportunity to build and evolve high-performance backend systems within a fast-paced iGaming technology environment. You will work across a modern Python-based technology stack to deliver new product capabilities and scalable services. The position combines hands-on development with architectural decision-making and responsibility for production reliability. You will contribute to integrations involving payment methods and data providers, as well as automated communication and risk management systems. Working alongside an international and supportive team, you will have meaningful ownership over technical solutions and delivered outcomes. • Make architectural and technical decisions for backend products and services.
• Design, develop, implement, and test reliable backend solutions using Python and Django.
• Build new product features and contribute to integrations with payment methods and external data providers.
• Develop automated communication systems, risk management capabilities, and other backend solutions.
• Monitor production systems to ensure stable, reliable, and trouble-free operation.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations where required.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks from initial development through completion and delivery.
• Decompose complex requirements into manageable technical tasks and deliver solutions efficiently.
• Apply flexible and systematic approaches to solving challenging technical problems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong professional knowledge of Python 3.x and Django.
• Experience designing and developing complex, highly loaded, and scalable systems.
• Strong understanding of general software engineering principles, including design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Intermediate English proficiency or higher, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international environment.
• Experience in the iGaming or sports betting industry.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve technical challenges quickly and efficiently.
• High level of independence, responsibility, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Flexible yet systematic approach to solving complex engineering problems.
• Ability to break down large and complex tasks into clear, actionable components.
• A strong commitment to quality and thoughtful engineering practices.
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, with an understanding of their respective characteristics and use cases, is a plus.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, and Redis is beneficial given the existing technology environment.
