Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000
Knowesis is seeking Military Medicine Research Program Managers to support the Defense Health Agency's Science and Technology Portfolios. The Program Manager develops research strategies and roadmaps and tracks project performance against those plans. Applying subject matter knowledge of combat casualty care and operational medicine research, the Program Manager plans and oversees execution of research program plans so the science and technology matures to the point where it can transition to partners for further development or implementation. This is a shared support contract role. The successful candidate must remain flexible and adaptable to support additional research portfolios as the government's priorities evolve, combining program management skill with a strong foundation in relevant biomedical or clinical research.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Contribute to science and technology research strategies and roadmaps that deliver capabilities to meet prioritized needs of the Services and Combatant Commands
- Build and maintain project plans, and track progress against budget, schedule, and performance goals
- Brief leadership on project status, especially delays or funding issues
- Support the solicitation and review of research proposals, applying subject matter knowledge to assess technical merit and relevance
- Coordinate with government researchers, partners, and the award management team throughout the proposal and award process
- Support annual budget planning and maintain records on engagements with potential transition partners
- Participate in team collaboration to enhance knowledge sharing and innovation
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in life sciences, public health, biomedical science, engineering, or a related scientific or technical field
- At least five years of experience in research, clinical, or program roles relevant to trauma care, critical care, or another combat casualty care-related biomedical field
- At least three years of experience in program or project management, or in a lead technical or research role with comparable planning and reporting responsibilities
- Strong writing and speaking skills, with the ability to explain project details to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to obtain any facility access required to work on-site at Fort Detrick, MD
- U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in life sciences, public health, biomedical science, engineering, or a related scientific or technical field
- Subject matter expertise in trauma medicine, transfusion medicine, resuscitation science, wound or burn care, or patient transport
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or federal health research programs
- Familiarity with the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, federal award instruments, or grant management software
