Job Summary:
Stage coils in sequence to be slit, load coils onto un-coiler and feed strip up to arbor, control strip edges during the slitting process, record in sequence the master coil being slit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for keeping Mill supplied with slit coils.
- Record strip gauge.
- Operate coil car and turn coil to lean on un-coiler.
- Check all coils for proper specifications. (heat, grade, gauge, width, supplier)
- Fill out coil production report.
- Notify production supervisor of any problems with equipment or production.
- Assist in roll changes and breakdowns.
- Identify any quality problems in material.
- Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly/
- Maintain safe work procedures.
