Summary
Set up and operate milling machines to cut materials and interpret drawings, ensuring quality control and safety. Technologies: Milling machines, SAP.
General Description/ Objective
Set Up and operate the milling machines to perform multiple machining and cutting operations on various materials.
Roles and Tasks
- Interpret drawings to make the adjustments and required machining, optimizing the performance of equipment and operating procedures, for greater productivity and quality assurance of the product
- Interpret the analysis of flange profile and perform machining at the points marked.
- Interpret the analysis of flange to correct the flange by heating, if needed, per work instructions.
- Operate equipment in accordance with the services and technical specifications.
- Perform finishing in parts using the knowledge and experience required.
- Carry out activities related to 5S or per supervisors requests.
- Use forklift and crane.
- Ensure the quality of processed products according to the standards of control.
- Optimize the means and tools placed at their disposal.
- Avoid unnecessary downtime in the process; ensuring productivity and daily targets are achieved.
- Filling in all inspection and production forms as required.
- Attend training program when called.
- Perform other tasks consistent with the requirements for the exercise of the function.
- Perform other tasks required by the supervisors.
- Respect Safety Standards and use of PPE.
- Clock-in and clock-out (mark attendance with the punch card) at the beginning and at the end of the shift.
- Execute clock-in and barcode reading in the SAP stations at the beginning and end of each task in production.
- Carry out activities related to 5S in the area.

Profile/ Professional Competencies/ Job Requirements
Education Requirements
- High School or equivalent (GED), or
- Elementary education plus minimum experience required.
Specific Knowledge
- Machining
- Industrial safety and standard operating procedure.
- Tolerances and drawing interpretations.
- Ability to change fixtures and tooling
- Ability to read blue prints and inspect parts
- Ability to read calipers and ODs comparators.
Languages
- Able to communicate and/or to read and understand instructions in English
IT/ Technical Knowledge
- Basic computer knowledge
Minimum Experience Required
- Six months on manufacturing, assembly or industrial process.
Internal Candidates and/or Employees from other GRI factories, are considered competent for this job if they have at least 2 years of experience on similar processes.
Preferable Requirements
- SAP
- Bilingual (English-Spanish)
- CNC programming
- Interpersonal Relationships, focused attention, flexibility, initiative, organization and commitment.
