MIS & IT Manager
Role Summary
The MIS & IT Manager is a senior
role responsible for overseeing both Management Information Systems and the
broader IT infrastructure and support team. This role ensures that information
systems and IT services are aligned with business goals, secure and reliable,
and that the technology environment empowers efficient operations, data-driven
decision-making, and overall business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic roadmap for
MIS and IT aligned with company objectives.
- Oversee operation, maintenance,
and enhancement of MIS systems (ERP, CRM, reporting, dashboards,
ticketing, etc.).
- Lead, manage, coach, and develop
the IT team (support, infrastructure, network, database) – hiring, setting
performance goals, monitoring, development.
- Ensure data integrity, security,
availability, and accuracy across all systems.
- Oversee IT policies, standards,
procedures, disaster recovery, backup, business continuity.
- Manage vendor relationships for
hardware, software, and services; evaluate, negotiate, and oversee
contracts/licensing.
- Collaborate with other
departments (Operations, HR, Finance, etc.) to identify technology needs,
drive system/process improvement, and ensure appropriate support.
- Ensure effective monitoring of
system performance, usage, and capacity, and proactively plan upgrades and
resource scaling as needed.Oversee helpdesk/support operations: ensure
issues are resolved promptly, SLAs maintained, user satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with relevant
regulations (data protection, cybersecurity standards, licensing).
- Ensure proper
execution of equipment
inventory, lifecycle management, and asset tracking processes to maintain
accurate records and support optimal resource utilization
Duties
- Lead the implementation,
configuration, maintenance, and upgrading of MIS and IT infrastructure,
including servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud services.
- Plan & manage IT budget
including forecasting hardware/software refresh, operating costs,
staffing.
- Lead projects: MIS
implementations, system integrations, migrations, enhancements.
- Prepare and deliver management /
executive reports: system performance, incidents, usage stats, project
status.
- Identify technology risks,
vulnerabilities, and ensure mitigation (patch management, access control,
monitoring).
- Oversee user training, develop
documentation, and ensure that staff understand and use systems properly.
- Ensure business continuity plans
and disaster recovery processes are in place and regularly tested.
Requirements
1 Knowledge
- Deep understanding of enterprise
systems: ERP, CRM, trouble-ticketing systems, reporting platforms.
- Strong knowledge of IT
infrastructure: network architecture (Ethernet, wireless), servers
(Linux/Windows), cloud services, storage.
- Information security best
practices (encryption, access control, audit logs, secure configurations).
- Data governance, data quality,
database systems (e.g., relational DBs), data warehousing, business
intelligence tools.
- Understanding of regulatory
compliance (data privacy, software licensing).
2 Skills
- Leadership & team management:
hiring, mentoring, performance evaluation.
- Project management: planning,
scheduling, resource allocation.
- Analytical thinking &
business / system analysis: translating business requirements into
technical specs.
- Problem solving &
troubleshooting at systems level.
- Communication skills: able to
explain technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical: SQL, system
integration, network management, server administration, OS (Linux,
Windows), cloud platforms, backup/disaster recovery.
3 Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years in IT /
MIS roles with increasing responsibility.
- At least 2-3 years leading
a team (IT support / infrastructure / software).
- Hands-on experience with
implementation of ERP/CRM or comparable large systems.
- Experience managing system
integrations, migrations, and cross-departmental IT projects.
- Prior experience ensuring IT
security, data governance, regulatory compliance.
4 Other Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Master’s or
relevant certification is a plus.
