Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties.

The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer to serve as the Senior ART/Mission Support Group Commander at a tenant location, responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the activities and operations of the Mission Support Group. DUTIES: Plans, directs, organizes, and manages the Mission Support Group program including such areas as logistics planning and readiness, security forces, civil engineering, communications, services, and personnel. Incumbent manages a limited number of support functions or does not have the full complement of base support services as these services are provided by the host activity. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents the wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Accomplishes special staff studies and projects resulting from reorganizations, regulatory changes, new technology, mission changes, etc.
