Mission Support Specialist

As a Mission Support Specialist, you will coordinate and perform a variety of administrative and management tasks, develop surveys, charts and graphs, manage property inventory, and represent the office with vendors and organizations.

The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.

Serve as an administrative liaison and consultant for local office leadership.

Analyze the effects of changes in administrative laws and regulations as they pertain to management services and identify and extract additional pertinent information.

Analyze data to identify problems, significant factors, and trends.

Use Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, to prepare final reports, briefings, presentations, and databases for supervisors or managers.

Work in a creative and innovative environment, where you will participate in the development of solutions and efficiencies to improve division administrative operations and improve customer service.

Independently completes a wide variety of administrative assignments such as Budget/Finance, Recruitment and Staffing, Facilities and Property Management, Payroll and Time and Attendance, Training, Safety and Security, Procurement, and Travel.

Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas. Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year. Physical Demands: Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
