Mission Support Specialist (Generalist)
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Del Rio Sector, Mission Readiness Operations, located in Del Rio, TX. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
In this Mission Support Specialist (Generalist) role, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security individuals involved in planning and carrying out a wide variety of mission support, workforce management, staffing and position management, administrative research, logistics and other program planning activities related to the missions and functions of the Mission Readiness Operations Division. This position starts at a salary of $50,460.00 (GS-07, Step 1) to $80,243.00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $97,087.00 (GS-11 Step 10). Typical duties include: Performing tasks associated with requisitions, purchase orders, and budget while coordinating with supervisors and staff to ensure receipt and processing of actions are completed in a timely manner. Maintaining various reports and information for the internal Table of Organization for both the workforce and equipment. Providing local agency direction and facilitation of creating, accepting, modifying, and transferring of property in accordance with laws, regulations, and directives. Researching suppliers and vendors for the procurement of supplies, equipment, and facilities, then preparing required documentation for approval of purchases. Conducting records management for various activities, performing audits, extracting reports; preparing briefings and reports for management to foster understanding and acceptance of findings, and recommending future operational needs.
