The Opportunity
Our client is a leading university in Malaysia, known for its strong focus on the student experience and investment in the digital services students rely on every day. As part of a program to improve the performance and consistency of their student-facing apps, they are seeking 1x Native iOS & 1x Android Developer to join their development team.
The Role
The roles revolve around hands-on native development to consolidate, enhance and remediate the University’s student mobile apps, delivering a faster, more consistent experience and stronger integrations with back-end services.
Responsibilities include:
The successful candidate will have strong commercial experience in native mobile development, using Swift with an in-depth understanding of the iOS SDK, or Kotlin with an in-depth understanding of the Android SDK. You will have taken applications through the full App Store or Google Play release process, and you will bring hands-on experience with cloud platforms. Experience applying enterprise design patterns and accessibility standards within a large or complex organisation will be highly regarded.

The Role
The roles revolve around hands-on native development to consolidate, enhance and remediate the University’s student mobile apps, delivering a faster, more consistent experience and stronger integrations with back-end services.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing and maintaining native iOS applications using Swift, or native Android applications using Kotlin
- Integrating apps with back-end services via JSON/RESTful APIs
- Defining technical requirements for user stories and providing effort estimates, working with BAs, project managers and testers
- Writing unit and UI tests, and upholding strong practices across code reviews, pull requests and branching strategies
- Contributing to platform consolidation and remediation of existing iOS and Android apps
- Optimising applications for performance, scalability and accessibility, including across a wide range of devices
- Owning end-to-end release management through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Building reusable code and libraries for future projects
