Day to day involves developing Android/iOS features in Java/Kotlin or Swift alongside the tech lead, product manager, and designers.

About SmartRoutes: SmartRoutes is a route planning & optimization platform that has developed leading edge technology for the rapidly expanding last mile logistics sector. Based in the middle of Cork City, we have experienced rapid growth over the past 4 years and are now searching for a Mobile App Software Developer to join our growing team and help build the next evolution of our software product. About the Role: We're hiring for a Mobile App Software Developer on our product team at SmartRoutes. You’ll be working on one of our mobile applications, with a goal of progressing to development of both mobile applications. Responsibilities: Continued development and maintenance of our mobile applications to provide a good and reliable experience for our users. Working closely with the Tech. Lead to build resilient, performant features for our mobile application. Working with the product manager and UI/UX designers to create seamless mobile experiences Participate in code reviews, support and troubleshoot issues, What we are looking for: A Computer Science degree or similar education. 2+ years of software development experience. Experience working with mobile technologies such as the Android SDK Experience with Java / Kotlin or Swift / Objective-C. Comfortable with Kotlin and/or Swift preferred. Understanding of the lifecycle of mobile applications and their various components. Familiar with software design patterns and data-structures. Ability to build design with modern internet infrastructure operation in mind, including metrics, logging, automation, etc Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notification Familiarity with 12 factor apps. Comfortable with using development & debugging tools. Good communication skills. Experience with application development technologies and patterns including Git, Trello, Confluence preferable. Useful Skills: Unix and networking knowledge. SaaS development experience. AWS or other cloud-based experience. Experience with JavaScript / Python Unit & performance testing. Have an understanding of RESTful technologies and API development.
