Mobile Design Engineer

Own the motion and interaction layer of a React Native mobile application, including easing, springs, gestures, transitions, haptics, and sound. Evolve the mobile design system, partner with product designers, optimize rendering performance, contribute to UI architecture, and establish reusable interaction patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own the motion and interaction layer of the mobile application
• Evolve the mobile design system and its interaction components
• Partner with product designers on motion and interaction design
• Profile and optimize rendering performance
• Contribute to UI responsiveness architecture
• Establish mobile interaction patterns through reviews and documentation

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating shipped interaction work
• Deep React Native fluency
• Experience with Reanimated and gesture handlers
• Ability to profile JavaScript thread and UI thread work
• Ability to read frame timelines
• Motion design judgment
• Product judgment
• Use of AI tools in development
• Written and verbal English
