Job Overview

Join a team modernizing an established enterprise mobile application used across Australia's building certification industry. As a Mobile Developer (Cross-Platform | Microsoft Stack), you will review an existing Objective-C iPad application and help migrate it into a modern, maintainable cross-platform solution using .NET MAUI (preferred) or a similar framework. Working closely with senior developers, you'll design, build, test, and maintain applications for iPadOS, iOS, Android, and Windows, while enhancing user experience, supporting legacy systems, and delivering high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and understand an existing Objective-C iPad application to support modernization efforts.
  
• Assist in migrating the application to a maintainable cross-platform solution using .NET MAUI (preferred) or another suitable framework.
  
• Develop, maintain, and enhance mobile applications for iOS, iPadOS, Android, and Windows.
  
• Build new features while maintaining compatibility with existing business workflows.
  
• Implement and maintain PDF viewing, annotation, image markup, and document management functionality.
  
• Improve mobile UI/UX to deliver an intuitive user experience.
  
• Work with third-party component libraries, including Syncfusion, where appropriate.
  
• Collaborate with senior developers to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.
  
• Perform testing across multiple devices and operating systems to ensure reliability and performance.
  
• Use GitHub for version control and contribute to continuous product improvements.
  
• Proactively communicate progress and escalate technical blockers when needed.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 3+ years of mobile application development experience.
  
• Strong experience with .NET MAUI, Xamarin, React Native, Flutter, or similar cross-platform mobile frameworks.
  
• Hands-on experience with Apple's development ecosystem, including Xcode, iOS/iPadOS development, and testing on Apple devices.
  
• Experience working with existing mobile applications and legacy codebases.
  
• Experience testing applications across iPhone, iPad, Android devices, and Windows platforms.
  
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, and object-oriented programming.
  
• Experience using Git or other version control systems.
  
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with Objective-C.
  
• Experience migrating legacy mobile applications to .NET MAUI.
  
• Experience with Syncfusion controls, particularly PDF Viewer/Editor components.
  
• Experience implementing PDF annotation, image markup, or document management features.
  
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, REST API integrations, and SQL Server.
  
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
  
• Demonstrated experience building native or cross-platform mobile applications (not just responsive web applications).
  
• Strong understanding of the complete mobile development lifecycle, from design and development through testing and deployment.
  
• Comfortable working with existing codebases, collaborating with senior developers, and producing high-quality software.
  
• Reliable home office setup with 100 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload internet, a modern development computer, and a quiet workspace (dual monitors preferred; remote Mac access available if needed).
