Coala Pay is a stablecoin payments platform that helps humanitarian organizations move money into hard-to-reach places.

The role
You’ll build a mobile app used by field agents to receive payment requests, manage a digital wallet, and confirm payments. Your focus is integrating an embedded wallet SDK and building clear sign-and-confirm flows for non-technical users, often on weak connections. You’ll also extend our existing Node.js backend with the APIs the app needs, following our architecture and code review process.

You have
- 3 to 5 years of mobile development, with React Native apps live in the App Store and Google Play
- Experience integrating an SDK that handles auth, sessions, or signing (embedded wallets, Privy, Web3Auth, Magic, or similar)
- Backend experience with Node.js (TypeScript preferred): building REST APIs that a mobile app consumes, with authentication and a database
- Experience building for low-connectivity users
- Fluent English and Spanish, with clear written communication, since we work async
- The ability to work independently from well-scoped tickets

Nice to have
- Crypto or wallet experience (Stellar, Base, EVM), fintech or NGO background. Curiosity about crypto matters more than prior experience.

Engagement Details
Duration: full-time role
Work mode: Remote
3 to 4 hours of daily overlap with Spain time (CET/CEST), otherwise async
Real ownership of a core product in a small team
Payment terms
Payment: $2,500 to $3,000 USD per month, depending on experience
Payment Schedule: Monthly, upon invoice

Location: Remote - GMT-06:00 to GMT-03:00
