Mobile Diesel Mechanic
Summary
Performs maintenance, repair, and diagnostic services for diesel vehicles and equipment at various work sites, including engine services, brake service, inspections, and cooling system service. Maintains service truck inventory and responds to emergency roadside repairs as needed.
Travel to work sites and provide maintenance, repair, and diagnostic services for diesel vehicles and equipment such as trailers to include but are not limited to engine services, brake service, engine diagnosis, inspections, cooling system service, etc. Most common service calls include scheduled services and repairs, breakdown response, DOT inspections, PM services.
JOB DUTIES:
- Receive direction Maintenance Manager along with the Fleet and Dispatch departments.
- Perform instructed and scheduled repair, maintenance, and services as needed on various vehicles and equipment as instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain service truck in a professional manner.
- Stock and maintain service truck inventory, tool collection, and all necessary paperwork daily (candidate to provide own tools)
- Make emergency roadside repairs; at times after-hours; carry, monitor and answer company issued cellphone for after hour service calls.
- Identifies and designates problems.
- Check safety equipment on truck and/or equipment.
- Inspects trucks and/or equipment, for condition, operation, parts and fluid levels.
