Summary Description

A Homes Renovation Specialist Temp Worker may work on various types of projects, such as constructing buildings, erecting temporary structures, plumbing projects, lighting projects, maintaining or paving roads, drainage, sewer projects, refurbishing homes, or home sets, etc., for a period of time or until the project is completed. A competent worker in this field will be able to use various types of tools and equipment safely and effectively. He or she must also have the physical strength to lift objects up to 100 lbs. The job often involves working outside in extreme temperatures or other unfavorable weather conditions.

General Responsibilities

  • Refurb and set homes as assigned
  • Perform work that may include, but is not limited to, building decks, plumbing and drainage, electrical work with knowledge of voltage and breakers, paving and concrete work, flooring installation, skirting/underpinning, painting, cabinet installation and alignment, and other related project work
  • Meet deadlines as assigned by the supervisor; work with appropriate team members to identify and prepare for assigned projects at communities
  • Work on assigned projects with large equipment and power tools; operate, run, and care for equipment
  • Work with vendors to ensure work is completed and/or coordinated
  • Work with contractors, maintenance staff, local government offices, permitting agencies, and others as required; closely coordinate with community managers on projects
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project
  • Operate a personal or company vehicle to pick up supplies or handle offsite company business
  • Report regularly to the supervisor to keep projects aligned with goals
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external partners
  • Devote working time, attention, knowledge, and skills to the company's business interests, in good faith and with best efforts, to the satisfaction of the employer
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Maintain a safe working environment through safe work practices, and report or resolve identified safety concerns
  • Understand that management reserves the right to revise this position description as necessary
  • Perform other duties customarily associated with similar positions, or as assigned from time to time

Physical Demands and Working Conditions/Environment

  • This role is temporary, based on assigned projects
  • Requires local travel within the assigned area
  • Work 5 days per week, Monday–Friday
  • Work up to 8+ hours a day, with occasional longer days to meet a potential resident after scheduled hours
  • Push, pull, or lift up to 100+ lbs
  • Stand for long periods of time with regular breaks; may need to climb, crawl, bend, or crouch
  • Understand that management reserves the right to revise this position description as necessary
  • If hourly, take any unpaid meal breaks or paid breaks per applicable laws
  • Work outside and walk across communities in various weather conditions, for extended periods, including up and down stairs and up ladders
