Mobile Maintenance Engineer - HVAC

Location: Mobile across Tameside Schools

Working hours: 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm

Robertson Facilities Management (RFM) provides hard and soft FM services, grounds maintenance and energy services for single and multi-site locations throughout the UK. We work across sectors including education, healthcare, emergency services and commercial, assuring our customers of high-quality, best value and a sustainable approach.

RFM has grown significantly since its inception in 1999, with a turnover of £181m for FY2025 and employs more than 1500 people. We are now on a growth trajectory, with ambitious plans to grow the business to £300m turnover by 2030. Our plans for growth require RFM to ‘make the market’, and to be at the forefront of high value opportunities in the FM marketplace

Your new role

What you'll do:

  • Complete PPM tasks and reactive visits
  • Take on Authorised Person duties in relevant areas.
  • Participate in the Engineers' On-Call rota.
  • Meet relevant tasks and PPM KPIs.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Hard Services Manager
  • The role is to work within Tameside Colleges and Schools
  • Maintain the allocated van with relevant van stock
  • Undergo internal and external training modules in a timely manner

What you'll need:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualified in relevant discipline (e.g. Heating Engineer / Plumbing / HVAC / Refrigeration / etc)
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Cross-trade experience advantageous
  • Good communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Maintenance and experience of HVAC systems, DHCW systems management, and water treatment
  • Valid UK Driving Licence and own vehicle required, or ability to attend site in less than one hour during on-call. Public transport is not suitable.

The successful candidate will require an Enhanced DBS Check before starting in the job.
