About Alkane
Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.
Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of over 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

About the role
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the Mobile Maintenance team while remaining actively involved in maintaining our underground mobile fleet. You will coordinate maintenance activities, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and support the development of apprentices and tradespeople.
Responsibility of the role
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Mobile Maintenance team.
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability.
- Carry out planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on underground mobile equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example.
- Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately.
- Work collaboratively with the Mining and Planning teams to minimise equipment downtime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance department.
Skills and experience
- Australian recognised Trade Qualification.
- A strong attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining underground or heavy mobile mining equipment.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, inspections, and reports.
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisory Role, preferred by not essential.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
