Day to day: long-distance driving, daily vehicle upkeep, roadside assistance (tire changes, jump-starts, minor repairs), and logging trips and incidents in the Samsara fleet system.

Basic Job Description:
The Mobile Mechanic/Transport Driver plays a key role in our work of transporting clients to needed care within and outside our contracted area while ensuring company vehicles remain safe, operational and ready for service. They are often the only in-person representative of the company, providing excellent customer service to business partners, facility staff, clients, and family members.

This role combines client transportation, fleet support, roadside assistance, and light mechanical duties. The ideal candidate possesses strong driving skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

This full-time position is remote with a fluid block schedule. Car and software are provided; PTO, healthcare benefits, and 401(k) are available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Long- and short-distance driving, coordinating routes and schedules with dispatchers.

  • Retrieve and secure clients and personal belongings for trip to destination facility.

  • Maintain detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and company policies, submitting monthly to Field Supervisor.

  • Ensure mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected promptly, reporting defects, accidents, and violations immediately.

  • Perform daily maintenance of vehicle (refueling, cleaning, snacks/water, etc.)

  • Interact with business partners, facility staff, clients, and family members in a professional manner.

  • Address problems and create solutions, collaborating with Dispatcher and elevating problems to Field Supervisor when necessary.

  • Enter data into Samsara system, maintain logs of calls, incidents, miles driven and more, submitting reports monthly to Driver/Fleet Manager.

  • Respond to roadside incidents involving company vehicles.

  • Change flat tires and replace damaged tires

  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs in the field.

  • Conduct battery jump-starts and other basic roadside assistance services.

  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels, lights, tires, battery condition, and safety equipment.

  • Coordinate towing services for disabled vehicles when repairs cannot be completed on site.

  • Assist with vehicle recovery and transportation following breakdowns or accidents.

  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, roadside incidents, and towing events.

  • Maintain company equipment, tools, and emergency roadside supplies.

  • Work with fleet management personnel to ensure vehicles remain compliant with company safety standards.

  • Work collaboratively with Director of Operations and Field Supervisors to update and maintain a list of facility contacts.

  • Drive excellence by creating efficiencies that will reduce the arrival time for transports (under the 2-hour maximum). Report all overages to Field Supervisor.

  • Other duties as assigned by Leadership.
