Mobile Service Technician
Position Overview
The Mobile Service Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, light repairs, recalls, and customer service-related vehicle repairs at customer locations or other off-site service locations. This role serves as a mobile extension of the dealership’s service department by delivering convenient, high-quality service directly to customers while maintaining dealership standards for safety, professionalism, and repair quality.
What You’ll Do
Mobile Vehicle Service & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance and light repair services at customer locations, including oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacement, recalls, inspections, and minor repairs
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic vehicle concerns within the scope of mobile service capabilities
- Complete repairs accurately, safely, and in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards
- Ensure all work is properly documented and repair orders are completed accurately and timely
Customer Experience & Communication
- Provide professional, courteous service while interacting directly with customers
- Explain repairs, maintenance recommendations, and service findings clearly and professionally
- Communicate service updates, delays, or additional repair needs to customers and dealership service staff
- Represent the dealership positively while working in the field
Vehicle & Equipment Management
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of the mobile service vehicle
- Ensure service tools, equipment, and parts are stocked and maintained appropriately
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the mobile service vehicle
- Follow all safety procedures related to tools, equipment, vehicle operation, and off-site work environments
Operational Support
- Coordinate daily service schedules and routes efficiently
- Communicate with service advisors, parts staff, and management regarding repair needs and scheduling
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions
- Support dealership service initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned
