Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain the quality and functionality of the assigned Mobile van/truck.

  • Be watchful of all maintenance to the vehicle so that it is performed in a timely manner. Always obey traffic laws and regulations and be mindful of where the vehicle is positioned/parked during customer service appointments so that is not obstructing traffic and is safely accessible.

  • Advise management of any services that cannot be performed as a mobile service function.

  • Always return the Mobile service vehicle to the assigned parking area nightly.

  • The mobile service vehicle is NOT TO BE USED FOR PERSONAL USE.

  • Help customer transport or arrange for transport to any MAG location to accommodate our customer needs wherever possible.

  • Communicate parts needs with the assigned service advisor and parts personnel to properly prepare for the work day and corresponding schedule.

  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner befitting your position. Treat customers and fellow associates with courtesy and respect. Always maintain a positive “can do” attitude.

  • Receive repair orders from the assigned dispatcher/Advisor. The MST will bring that vehicle to their respective work area for repair.

  • Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

  • Diagnose any malfunction and perform the repair. Communicate with Parts Department to obtain the needed parts. Return, tag and mark the parts if the job is under warranty to the parts department outlining the failed area if possible or return the parts in a bag or box in a clean manner if the customer requests their old parts returned.

  • Inspect the vehicle to determine if any safety or service work is required.

  • Notify the Service Advisor or A.S.M. immediately if any vehicle requires any additional repairs, if the requested work is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed in time so the customer can be notified.

  • Document all repairs on the repair order, identify your repairs by employee number, record warranty times and document any specific information directly relating to the repair.

  • Road test all vehicles when required or refer to the testing technician keeping in mind a customer’s car is never to be used for personal errands.

  • Always obtain the proper signatures or Pos before any work is started or communicate with the advisor to make sure it is retained.

  • Properly advise the service advisor on all services performed and parts/liquids used for proper billing.

  • Supervise any assigned apprentice technician’s work.

  • Attend any and all classes assigned by management when required and perform and pass all required exams via internet or classroom required by manufacturer for continued education.

  • Take at least one A.S.E. exam during A.S.E. testing times if all A.S.E. certifications are not current and make every effort to keep certifications current.

  • Use all of the special service tools provided to ensure proper repairs to include T.I.S.(Toyota Information Systems), service bulletins, specialty tool kits, etc.

  • Make sure every vehicle S/He works on is kept clean. The work area will also be kept clean to include the floor, lift, hoses, reels, work benches, tool boxes, walls, lights, garbage emptied, etc.

  • Advise management immediately if a special tool or equipment is failing or has failed. All missing components must be reported immediately.

  • Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as safety requirements, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, Right to Know etc.

  • Comply to any changes or additions to this description as advised by management.

  • Other duties as assigned.
