Location/Office Policy:
AIB, Central Park & AIB, Molesworth Street, Dublin

This role operates under AIB's hybrid working model, which includes a mix of office-based and remote working.

What is the Role:

Reporting to the Head of Credit Model Risk, you will play a key role in supporting AIB's implementation and ongoing compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and industry best practice relating to Model Risk Management.

You will provide second line governance, oversight and challenge across the end-to-end model lifecycle while supporting the continued enhancement of AIB's Model Risk framework, controls and management platform. This role offers the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders, drive automation initiatives and support strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities;

  • Support second line governance, oversight and challenge across the end-to-end model lifecycle.
  • Interpret and embed prudential regulations, supervisory expectations and industry best practice into Model Risk Management processes.
  • Assess downstream and cross-model impacts across the risk model landscape to support informed decision-making.
  • Lead enhancements to the Model Risk Management platform and supporting workflows.
  • Drive automation of data quality assessments and management reporting.
  • Provide robust challenge to first line model owners and stakeholders on governance, controls and risk management practices.
  • Assess compliance with the Model Risk Policy and wider framework through ongoing engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Represent the Model Risk function at relevant forums and committees, clearly communicating material risks and remediation priorities.

What You Will Bring;

  • 6+ years' experience in Model Risk, Model Validation, Model Development, Audit or Risk Oversight within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment governing credit and/or financial risk models.
  • Experience designing or enhancing risk frameworks, policies, governance processes or control environments.
  • Ability to interpret evolving regulations and provide clear, practical and defensible solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing committee papers, policies and regulatory documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Experience developing technology-enabled solutions, workflow improvements or automation initiatives.
  • Self-driven and proactive approach with a focus on simplifying complexity and strengthening controls.
