Summary

Desktop support role at Landcom, the NSW Government's land and property developer, based in Parramatta. Day to day: running the service desk, resolving end-user issues across Microsoft 365, devices, printing and meeting-room tech, managing onboarding/offboarding, software deployment and small IT projects.

We’re the NSW Government’s land and property developer, on a mission to increase the supply of homes in more places, for more people.

We work with councils, local builders, not-for-profits, developers and the community to create sustainable, affordable places where people want to live. Together, we’re not just building homes — we’re building a better, stronger NSW.

Our mission is to make a positive difference in people’s lives by increasing the supply, affordability and diversity of housing; and by creating sustainable communities where people can connect, contribute and live well.

About the role

Reporting to the Technology Support and Compliance Manager, the Modern Desktop Support Officer will keep Landcom’s people connected and productive by providing responsive, high-quality support for all end user compute technologies across the business.

This position within the Finance & Commercial division will:

  • Deliver day-to-day user and technical support across applications, mobile devices, printing and meeting room technology, resolving issues quickly and escalating complex matters where needed.
  • Manage the service desk queue and IT requests, logging and prioritising calls to keep service levels high.
  • Coordinate user onboarding, staff movements and offboarding, ensuring equipment and accounts are set up accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee software updates, configuration and deployment, and support small IT projects such as office relocations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors and managed service providers to resolve infrastructure issues and minimise service disruption.
  • Identify patterns in support issues, recommend solutions and deliver training that drives continuous improvement.

Skills and experience

You’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in information technology or a related field, or equivalent experience, along with relevant certifications in Microsoft end user compute technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 (Office 365, Windows Enterprise, EMS), including administration of Teams and Teams Calling, OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online.
  • Knowledge of core networking technologies (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi) and helpdesk support principles (ITIL).
  • Proven problem-solving skills and experience providing user support in a customer-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset.

  • Working with passionate people who are great at what they do and proud to make a difference.
  • A shared purpose that benefits our cities and state.
  • A range of learning, development and wellbeing programs to help you thrive.
