Modernisation Solution Architect

Role Overview

The Modernisation Solution Architect is responsible for leading application modernization and transformation initiatives, conducting architecture recovery for legacy systems, designing target-state solutions, and driving Proof of Concept (PoC) and Proof of Value (PoV) engagements leveraging AI technologies. The role serves as the technical authority for modernization programs and acts as the successor technical lead throughout delivery execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture assessments and modernization strategy development for legacy and enterprise systems.

• Perform architecture recovery and current-state analysis for undocumented, highly customized, or complex applications.

• Design target-state architectures that align with business, technology, scalability, security, and operational requirements.

• Lead AI-driven Proof of Concept (PoC) and Proof of Value (PoV) initiatives to validate modernization approaches and business benefits.

• Utilize AI-assisted tooling to accelerate system understanding, code analysis, dependency mapping, and impact assessments.

• Conduct impact analysis for changing business requirements, regulations, and system enhancements.

• Develop modernization roadmaps, migration strategies, and transformation plans.

• Design cloud-native architectures and platform modernization solutions using Azure and related cloud services.

• Produce architecture blueprints, design documents, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and technical governance artifacts.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, analysts, project managers, and delivery teams to ensure successful implementation.

• Provide technical leadership and governance throughout the modernization lifecycle.

• Support handover to implementation squads and delivery teams while maintaining architectural integrity.

• Assess technical risks, assumptions, dependencies, and implementation constraints.

• Drive architecture reviews, solution assurance, and technical quality practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 12+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, system modernization, or cloud transformation initiatives.

• Strong experience in architecture recovery and legacy system modernization.

• Proven experience leading modernization PoC and feasibility studies.

• Deep understanding of software architecture, cloud-native design, integration patterns, and enterprise platforms.

• Experience with AI-enabled solution design and architecture analysis.

• Strong impact analysis and requirements assessment capabilities.

• Experience producing architectural governance documentation and transition plans.

• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and presentation skills.
