Modified Athletic Coach
Summary of Responsibilities
Hackley School seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Athletic Coach to guide and mentor middle school athletes in either field hockey, flag football, basketball or, track and field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a positive and inclusive environment that promotes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development in student-athletes.
Available positions:
Fall
- Middle School Field Hockey (2 vacancies)
- Middle School Flag Football (2 vacancies)
Winter
- Middle School Girls Basketball
Spring
- Middle School Indoor Track
Reporting Structure
As part of Hackley’s Athletics Department, the Athletic Coaches report to the Director of Athletics.
Specific Responsibilities
The Athletic Coaches responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coaching and Instruction: Lead practice sessions, focusing on skills, techniques, and strategies appropriate for middle school levels. Provide feedback to improve performance and develop game plans. Inspire a passion for the sport and continuous improvement.
- Player Development and Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model and ensure athlete safety. Teach sportsmanship, discipline, and respect. Support student-athletes in balancing academics and athletics.
- Team Management: Organize and manage teams effectively. Maintain communication with students, parents, administration, and others. Coordinate with the Director of Athletics.
- Logistical Support: Assist with team travel, uniforms, and scheduling in coordination with the Athletic Department. Attend required meetings or training. Help with equipment maintenance.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to school, and state regulations for safety, eligibility, and sportsmanship. Must have current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED and complete required safety courses like NFHS Concussion in Sports.
- Time Commitment:
- Middle School Positions: Monday - Thursday. 2:45 - 3:45. Gamedays finish later.
- Other duties as assigned.
