Molding Technician II

Summary

Operates and maintains injection molding machines in a manufacturing plant, performing routine setups, inspections, and preventive maintenance to ensure quality output.

Position Summary

The Molding Technician I works under direct supervision to maintain and set up injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment in accordance with quality, operations, and time standards. The Molding Technician will perform routine and simple maintenance and job tasks where sequences, methods, and instructions are well-defined and routine in nature.

Essential Functions

  1. Inspect and analyze defective parts to determine necessary machine adjustments, set up and maintain machines and all related auxiliary
  2. Responsible for performing preventive maintenance checks as required, and support team projects and process improvement activities as directed
  3. Assist Technicians and/or Plastic Engineering in responding to urgent maintenance projects/requests in support of manufacturing
  4. Record spare part usage, communicating low inventory items to appropriate personnel and documenting and maintaining a log of issues/resolutions

  2. Provide consistent, high-quality output to ensure customer satisfaction and create value to exceed customer expectations
  3. Regular and reliable attendance is required to accomplish essential functions of the job
  4. Maintain professional and technical knowledge of industry best practices by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, visiting other manufacturing facilities, and participating in professional societies
