Role Purpose
The Volunteer – Monash Meals supports the delivery of meals and related services to community members. Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring clients receive meals safely, respectfully, and on time, while contributing to a positive and supportive community service environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation, packing, and/or delivery of meals to clients
Follow food safety, hygiene, and work health and safety procedures
Provide courteous, respectful, and professional interactions with clients
Report any client concerns or incidents to Monash Meals staff
Maintain confidentiality and privacy in line with government policies
Support staff and other volunteers as required
Skills and Attributes
Reliable, punctual, and committed to community service
Friendly and respectful communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and procedures
Willingness to work as part of a team
Sensitivity to the needs of older adults and vulnerable community members
Requirements
Ability to meet volunteer screening requirements (e.g. police check, working with vulnerable people check, if applicable)
Capacity to perform light physical tasks (such as carrying meal containers)
Driver’s licence and access to a vehicle (for delivery roles, if applicable)
Training and Support
Full induction and role-specific training provided
Ongoing support and supervision from Monash Meals staff
Opportunities to develop skills and gain experience in community services
