This team would combine the specialist DBA and advanced technical support capabilities. The role emphasizes expertise in MongoDB and involves a range of high-level responsibilities.
Work Structure and Availability
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., handling incoming tickets. Outside these hours, the team operates on an on-call basis, with a required response time of approximately 30 minutes after a call is received. The shift and on-call schedule is determined by the service provider, in accordance with local working-time regulations.
Operating approximately 20 clusters typically requires 1-2 people for operations alone, plus an additional 1-2 people for ongoing development (including patching). Providing full 24/7 on-call coverage will require a larger team than the base operational headcount.
Main Responsibilities:
Core MongoDB operations.
Investigation and resolution of complex incidents.
Performance management and optimization.
Replication and availability management.
Backup and restore activities.
Monitoring and capacity management.
Technical changes and releases.
Technical support for the MongoDB v7-to-v8 migration.
Security patching and vulnerability remediation.
Technical support for requirements related to DORA and the German Money Laundering Act, or GWG.
Secondary on-call support for incidents requiring specialist MongoDB intervention.
Key Requirements:
Extensive experience with MongoDB.
Expertise in database administration and support.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Experience in backup and disaster recovery processes.
Familiarity with security best practices for database management.
Ability to manage technical migrations.
Experience with monitoring tools and capacity planning.
The candidate should be prepared to learn the client's internal tools: an in-house ticketing system developed by the client, the ZIS/USU monitoring platform, and ServiceNow (including custom, extended workflows for change, security, and patching management).
Nice to Have:
Experience with automated deployment tools.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards.
