Summary
Administers MongoDB databases in production, handling setup, performance tuning, security, and cloud deployments while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer MongoDB databases in production environments.
- Manage MongoDB replication, sharding, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
- Perform backup, restore, disaster recovery, and database migration activities.
- Administer MongoDB Atlas and on-premises MongoDB deployments.
- Implement database security, user access controls, and auditing.
- Support cloud-based MongoDB deployments on AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Work closely with development teams on schema design and query optimization.
- Create and maintain operational documentation and monitoring dashboards.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of MongoDB Administration experience.
- Strong expertise in MongoDB Replication, Sharding, Aggregation Framework, and Indexing.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas, MongoDB Enterprise, or Community Edition.
- Experience with backup and recovery tools (mongodump, mongorestore).
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting database performance.
