Summary
A monitor technician in a hospital telemetry unit observes cardiac rhythms, interprets arrhythmias, and alerts nursing staff to changes during rotating 12-hour and 8-hour shifts.
Department: Level 3
Work Hours: One 12 hr and one 8 hr shift per week, day/evening shift rotation, weekends and holidays
The Monitor Technician will be responsible continuous observation of telemetry unit, accurate assessment and interpretation of cardiac rhythms and/or arrhythmia's, complete evaluation and mounting of rhythm strips and communication of any rhythm change information to nursing staff.
Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
Preferred
Fundamental knowledge of arrhythmia interpretation and monitoring function is preferred.
