We are looking for a Java Developer for one of our clients, an investment bank set in Montreal
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with risk analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets for analytics and machine learning.
- Develop, test, document, deploy, and provide L3 production support for applications.
- Deliver working code that meets acceptance criteria and Definition of Done standards while ensuring product quality through testing, deployment, and production activities.
- Document technical designs and specifications, maintain test cases, and support issue resolution, root cause analysis, and major production events.
- Manage release processes, including release notes preparation, release scripts development, deployment execution, and rollback planning.
- Implement and enforce data security, governance, and compliance standards in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to ensure data integrity, availability, and performance.
- Automate repetitive data processing tasks and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools, cloud technologies, and best practices in data engineering.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide production support, incident management, and root cause analysis activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Ability to code, test, document, deploy, and provide L3 application support.
- Strong cloud computing knowledge, including security, infrastructure, architecture design, and design patterns.
- Experience with Spring Boot for developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Strong proficiency with Oracle Database, including:
- Stored procedures
- Performance tuning
- Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL pipelines.
- Strong Python skills for data manipulation, automation, and scripting.
- Proficiency with GitHub for source code management and collaborative development.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
