This position is located in the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae), Monitoring and Asset Management Division. Ginnie Mae is a wholly owned government corporation created to help expand homeownership opportunities for low and moderate-income Americans, by linking global capital markets to the nation's housing markets. As a Mortgage Banking Analyst, you will: - Monitor the activities of issuers, sub servicers, and custodians to assess their performance, and compliance with Ginnie Mae MBS guidelines and secondary mortgage market practices. - Participate in the development of issuer and document custodian field reviews and works with the AE to resolve referred field review findings within prescribed timelines and in accordance with Ginnie Mae requirements. - Participate in the acquisition of a defaulted issuer's portfolio consistent with Ginnie Mae policy. This includes pre-default preparation of materials necessary to implement the default, traveling to the issuer's site to execute the default, and post-default activities. - Act as a Contracting Officer's Representative. - Provide assistance in the management of contracts, which includes assisting in the development of Compliance Review contract, recommending improvements to current contracts and preparing the modification of the contracts to implement the improvement, participating in the development of contract task orders and reviewing contractor work performed under those task orders, and monitoring task order and contract costs to ensure that the costs do not exceed the maximum allowed.

The official duty station for this position will be in Alexandria, Virginia. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal. Key Requirements: Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. A probationary or trial period may be required. Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
