Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Mortgage Loan Setup Specialist committed to playing an integral role on the Victory Mortgage team. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, develop strong working relationships with internal partners, and support the loan transaction process from submission through underwriting preparation. You will be responsible for assisting Mortgage Loan Processors by reviewing file submissions, managing verification requests, coordinating required documentation, and helping ensure loan packages move forward accurately and on time.

These skills will be used to:
- Review loan files submitted by Loan Officers to assess accuracy, completeness, and overall submission quality.
- Complete required system checklists and ensure all necessary documentation is included before underwriting review.
- Process Verification of Employment requests and other employment documentation needed for loan approval.
- Prepare and submit loan files to Underwriting within established service-level timelines.
- Order and coordinate required third-party services, including title work, appraisals, fraud reports, and condominium documentation.
- Obtain required documentation and eligibility information for government loan programs, including FHA, VA, and USDA loans.
- Support new-construction loan transactions by gathering, reviewing, and uploading required construction and billing documentation.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete loan files throughout the submission and underwriting process.
- Apply knowledge of mortgage lending programs, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate and compliant file setup.
- Communicate effectively with Loan Officers, Underwriters, and internal and external partners to resolve missing information and keep files moving forward.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two- or four-year degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
- Prior mortgage lending experience in processing, origination, or post-closing is preferred.
- One year of experience in an organizational role that requires multitasking and efficiency is preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational ability, sound judgment, adaptability, and a customer-service orientation.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical demands and work environment:
- Must be able to use sensory skills (i.e. verbal communication) to effectively communicate and interact with other Associates and customers.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier).
- Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.
