MPFM (Multiphase Flow Metering) Specialist
Summary
Specialist ensures oil-field MPFM systems run reliably, analyzes performance, recommends tech upgrades, and trains users on multiphase flow metering equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the operability of MPFM to the fullest potential and assure the availability and reliability of accurate and continuous oil fields production.
- Perform evaluation, analysis and write reports and memo related to MPFM matters (audit, maintenance, commissioning, field test, etc.… )
- Evaluate and/or recommend new MPFM technologies aimed at improving well productivity, enhance and optimize testing and streamlining efficiency.
- Specify design criteria and relevant operating parameters for development of the new projects and adoption of MPFM.
- Mentor junior / less experienced workforce.
- Troubleshoot and maintain proper operation of all components of the MPFMs installation base and digital communication with the associated RTUs.
- Coordinate with the MPFMs vendors on all issues for proper operation and maintenance
- Provide assistance for testing and downloading MPFM data of tested wells.
- Plan, coordinate, prepare and present training courses and workshops to KOC MPFM end users to raise the knowledge level of MPFMs within KOC
- Administer vendor activities and support through maintenance and support contracts at company and department levels for all MPFMs installed in KOC.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to ensure that the MPFM equipment functions are as specified before shipping and installation onsite.
- Provide technical support and consultation during MPFM installation, commissioning and maintenance.
- Track the commissioning backlog of the MPFM equipment on a monthly basis and coordinate with KOC PM to ensure timely commissioning.
- Participate in equipment IFAT, SAT, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, report findings, and follow up on implementation of specifications and design requirement.
- Identity and test new technologies in coordination with R&T, OTS and other related departments.
- Write or participate in technical reports following the evaluation of MPFM technologies.
- A bachelor’s degree in instrumentation or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in Multiphase Flow Metering plus surface well-testing operation.
- Ability to support, develop or monitor intelligent -field advanced applications, software and workflows associated with intelligent infrastructure that are utilized to optimize production.
