MRI Technologist

JOB OVERVIEW:

The role of an MRI Technologist operates MRI equipment to obtain filmed images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies, according to Radiologist's directions and established procedures. This is a PRN position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
• Selects appropriate imaging techniques and operates console and peripheral hardware.
• Positions patients, administers injections of contrast media and manipulates images to ensure a high quality exam.
• Explains procedure to patient, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.
• Confirm patient identification
• Prescreen and clear all patients prior to the patient entering scan room.
• Reviews the MRI Safety Plan annually.
• Cleans and maintains all equipment to OEM specifications.
• Obtains continuing education credits as required by licensure
• Follow OSHA Guidelines
• HIPAA and Corporate Compliance
• Other duties as assigned
