Middle School Boys Basketball Coach — Job Posting Position

Position Title: Middle School Boys Basketball Coach

Location: Regional School District No. 7, Northwestern Regional Middle School

Start Date: 2026-2027 Winter Season

Position Summary

Regional School District No. 7 is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Middle School Boys Basketball Coach to lead the development of student-athletes in a competitive, educationally focused athletic program. The coach will foster skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive team culture aligned with district values.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise all practices, games, and team activities for the Middle School Boys Basketball program.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills, game strategy, and conditioning appropriate for middle school athletes.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that supports student growth and well-being.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, school administration, and athletic department staff.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and CIAC rules and expectations.
• Coordinate equipment needs, uniform distribution, and facility use.
• Model and reinforce positive sportsmanship and respectful conduct at all times.
• Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and competitions.
• Attend required coaches' meetings, trainings, and professional development as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Prior coaching experience or significant basketball knowledge
• Ability to work effectively with middle school students
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Successful completion of required background checks

Preferred:

• Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level
• Experience working in a school setting
• CIAC coaching certification (or willingness to complete)

This is a stipend position via NTA contractual agreement: for 2026-2027 SY = $3,415.00
