Are you ready to make a lasting impact on the infrastructure that powers one of the world's most influential financial institutions? At JPMorganChase, we invest in our engineers and give you the tools, scale, and autonomy to solve complex problems that matter — not just to us, but to millions of customers and partners around the world.

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within Infrastructure Platforms, you will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for designing, engineering, and supporting enterprise-grade network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Your work will directly influence how the firm connects, scales, and secures its global technology footprint — bridging traditional data center capabilities with modern cloud networking solutions across platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Job responsibilities

  • Design and engineer complex network infrastructure solutions that align with compliance, security, and enterprise architecture standards across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
  • Perform highly technical network software and hardware configurations to support large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure deployments
  • Provide 4th-level escalation support for Severity 1 networking incidents, driving rapid resolution and minimizing business impact
  • Architect and implement cloud networking solutions including Transit Gateways, Direct Connects, ExpressRoutes, and Virtual WAN as extensions of the firm's data center strategy
  • Engineer and support virtual fabric overlay services such as Equinix Fabric and Megaport Virtual Cross Connects to enable seamless connectivity across environments
  • Lead network planning and provisioning activities, applying continuous improvement principles to enhance operational efficiency and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technology and business teams to translate line-of-business technology drivers into scalable infrastructure architecture decisions
  • Develop and maintain automation and scripting capabilities to streamline network operations and reduce manual intervention
  • Represent JPMorganChase in engagements with external technology partners, vendors, and service providers with professionalism and technical credibility

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Proficient knowledge across operational support, network design (including compliance and security considerations), and network engineering disciplines including planning and provisioning
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud networking technologies including Transit Gateways, Direct Connects, ExpressRoutes, and Virtual WAN across major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience with virtual routers and virtual fabric overlay services such as Equinix Fabric or Megaport Virtual Cross Connects
  • Knowledge of more than one specific infrastructure technology domain with the ability to apply cross-domain expertise to solve complex problems
  • Intermediate understanding of line-of-business technology drivers and their impact on infrastructure and architecture design decisions
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required to support critical infrastructure operations and maintenance windows
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to represent the firm effectively in external partner and vendor engagements

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • AWS Advanced Networking Specialty certification or equivalent cloud networking credential
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent enterprise networking credential
  • Experience working with APIs, including command-line testing and the ability to script and automate network workflows
  • Basic programming knowledge, particularly in Python, to support infrastructure automation and tooling initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and deliver innovative solutions through continuous improvement methodologies
