This is a career ladder position posting in the Office of Senate Security under the Secretary of the Senate. An individual selected for the career ladder position will be placed into the Office of the Secretary of the Senate pay band 6 for a period of approximately 12 to 18 months, during which time they will be on a training plan and provided opportunities for development and increased responsibility. Upon successful completion of the development and performance goals, the incumbent will be recommended for promotion to a Multi-Disciplinary Security Officer II position in pay band 7. This is administrative work supporting the Office of Senate Security (OSS) in the execution of core security functions for the United States Senate. The Multi-Disciplinary Security Officer (MDSO) serves as a generalized security professional providing flexible, cross-functional support throughout multiple OSS mission areas, including document control, personnel security, operations, access control, facilities security, analysis, and administrative support. Work is bound by Secretary of the Senate policies and procedures, the U.S. Senate Handbook, and the Senate Ethics Manual, but requires independent judgment in setting priorities and handling assignments.
