Salary: £54,000
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (Night Shifts)
Additional Requirement: 1 Saturday night shift in every 4
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x

Role Overview

A multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias is required to support night-shift operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring machinery reliability, reducing downtime, and providing engineering support to production teams during night operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on production equipment.

  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults to restore equipment performance quickly and safely.

  • Conduct routine inspections, safety checks, and technical adjustments on machinery.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reliability, efficiency, and safety.

  • Record maintenance activities and ensure compliance with engineering and site procedures.

  • Respond effectively to breakdowns, working independently during night shifts.

  • Collaborate with daytime engineering teams to ensure effective handovers.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Time-served engineer with electrical bias and multi-skilled capability.

  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or processing environments.

  • Strong diagnostic skills across electrical systems (motors, sensors, drives, control panels).

  • Competent in mechanical fault-finding and repair.

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload during night operations.

  • Awareness of health & safety standards and safe working practices.
