Salary: $95 - $145 per hour including super

Our client, a Federal Government department responsible for protecting Australia's natural environment and heritage, is seeking Multiple Cyber Security Operations Analysts at Junior (APS4/5 equivalent) and Senior (APS6/EL1 equivalent) levels.

Duties of the Multiple Cyber Security Operations Analysts

• Monitor, investigate and respond to cyber security alerts, incidents and threats;
• Use Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Purview to support threat detection and investigations;
• Conduct security investigations, analyse evidence and support incident containment, remediation and recovery;
• Contribute to threat hunting, vulnerability management and security risk mitigation;
• Improve detection capabilities, investigation workflows, automation and operational procedures;
• Collaborate with cyber security engineers, ICT teams, managed SOC providers and stakeholders;
• Senior analysts will also lead complex investigations, provide technical guidance and mentoring, review SOC outputs, and drive improvements to incident response and detection capabilities.

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience in cyber security operations, incident response, security monitoring or cyber investigations;
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint and/or Microsoft Purview;
• Understanding of threat detection, incident investigation, vulnerability management and security remediation;
• Senior applicants should demonstrate advanced incident response, threat hunting and technical leadership experience. Junior applicants should demonstrate sound investigation, alert triage and evidence-handling skills.

Highly Regarded

• Australian Government cyber security experience;
• Knowledge of PSPF, ISM and Essential Eight, ServiceNow/ITSM experience;
• Relevant Microsoft or industry certifications.
