Salary: $200,000 – $230,000 per year

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to support the implementation, configuration and validation of secure technology solutions across a Federal Government environment. The role will focus on implementing security controls across Microsoft cloud technologies, DevSecOps pipelines, identity and access management, information protection and emerging AI platforms.

The successful candidate will work closely with project, engineering, architecture and operational teams to embed security by design, remediate security gaps and ensure solutions meet Australian Government security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and configure cybersecurity controls across cloud and enterprise technology environments.

  • Design and implement secure technology patterns across projects, including configuration, testing, deployment and transition to operations.

  • Configure and manage Microsoft Entra ID security capabilities, including Conditional Access, authentication, authorisation and access governance.

  • Implement secure SharePoint Online configurations, including access controls, information protection, retention and records management.

  • Implement Azure DevOps security and DevSecOps practices, including automated security scanning, security gates, code assurance and secure release processes.

  • Support the implementation of secure solutions across Azure and emerging AI technologies, including Azure AI Foundry and AI accelerator platforms.

  • Develop and implement security strategies covering identity, access management, data protection and secure deployment.

  • Conduct security testing and validation of implemented controls and remediate identified vulnerabilities and gaps.

  • Develop security documentation, implementation artefacts, operational procedures and evidence to support security assurance and ongoing maintenance.

  • Ensure technology solutions align with Australian Government security requirements, including the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Essential Eight.

  • Support privacy, data protection and supply-chain security requirements.

  • Work with technical and business stakeholders to translate security requirements into practical technology solutions.

  • Support operational readiness, transition to service and ongoing security improvement activities.
