Overview
Our federal Goverment Client is seeking multiple Senior Infrastructure Engineers (EL1 equivalent) to help deliver major outcomes in application packaging and desktop modernisation. In this hands-on role, you’ll work across Windows 11 endpoint management, ensuring requestable applications and hardware drivers remain supported, patched, and reliably deployed using Microsoft Intune. You’ll contribute to uplifting desktop security and compliance, improving provisioning through Autopilot, and supporting a transition from hybrid-joined Windows 11 devices toward an Entra-joined Windows 11 SOE with a passwordless experience—all while partnering closely with internal teams and an external vendor to deliver high-impact, enterprise-scale results.

Required Skills
- Proven expertise in application packaging, testing, updating, and deployment using Microsoft Intune (including Win32 and MSIX) and lifecycle management
- Strong capability administering Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) including device configuration, compliance policies, and endpoint configuration
- Experience with Intune Autopilot deployment and device provisioning
- Working experience with SCCM/MECM, particularly operating system deployment (OSD) and task sequence administration
- Knowledge and implementation experience with application control (e.g., AirLock, WDAC) and endpoint security/compliance requirements
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills to automate deployment, configuration, and operational tasks
- Ability to provide Level 3 support for SOE, endpoint management, and application packaging services
- Solid understanding of cloud + hybrid endpoint environments, including Entra ID, Entra Kerberos authentication, Active Directory, and configuration profiles for hybrid/cloud devices accessing on-prem resources
- Strong technical writing skills—able to produce knowledge base articles, technical instructional documentation, support procedures, and implementation guides
- Practical understanding of release, change, and incident management associated with application deployments (including raising changes)
- Experience managing supervised Apple iOS devices via Intune, including mobile app deployment
- Experience modernising environments from SCCM-dependent management to modern management with full Autopilot deployments
- Experience supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, specifically Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Senior-level experience (aligned to EL1 equivalent) delivering endpoint engineering outcomes in enterprise Windows environments
- Demonstrated experience producing design documentation, architecture documentation, and as-built configuration documentation
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and improve authentication and endpoint solutions in hybrid and cloud-joined Windows 11 environments
- Location/Working Model: ACT-based role with hybrid working arrangements; must be able to work in the Canberra office (flexible work requests considered)
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
- Contract: 12-month initial contract, with up to two extensions of up to 12 months each
- Security: Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance
