Murex DevOps Engineer
Summary
Maintains and deploys Murex MX.3 environments for financial clients, automates configurations with scripting and DevOps tools, and supports upgrades and migrations across APAC.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain MX.3 environments for client projects
- Support Murex upgrade projects, MX.3 data model adaptation, and environment management activities
- Work closely with internal delivery teams to ensure smooth execution of Murex solutions across the region
- Deploy and manage MX.3 software environments using Murex tools and scripts.
- Conduct smoke testing to validate environments before handover to project teams
- Provide first-level support for deployed MX.3 environments and escalates issues to relevant support teams when required
- Use configuration management tools to export and import configuration items.
- Diagnose and resolve configuration-related issues
- Apply Murex configuration management methodologies to ensure consistency, quality, and reliability
- Support database migration and MX.3 data model transformation initiatives.
- Assist with post-migration stabilization activities
- Monitor, follow up, and resolve conversion-related defects
- Contribute to methodologies, best practices, and templates for environment setup, configuration management, and conversion processes
- Customize, refine, and document installation, upgrade, and migration procedures
- Improve communication workflows and documentation standards for internal and external stakeholders
- Provide technical consultancy related to MX.3 environments, tools, and deployment procedures
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
- 2–3 years of experience in IT, engineering, DevOps, or technical implementation environments
- 3–5 years of Murex experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with UNIX operations and RDBMS operations
- Strong technical knowledge of scripting, including Perl, awk, Shell scripting, SQL, Unix, and XML
- Exposure to DevOps tools such as Git, Ansible, and Shell scripting
- Familiarity with Murex tools, including configuration management tools and migration/conversion utilities
- Knowledge of Python scripting will be an advantage
- Familiarity with cloud computing environments will be an advantage
- Understanding of server and infrastructure specifications
- Experience with XML manipulation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio
- Native or fluent Mandarin language skills, both spoken and written
- Fluent or highly proficient English language skills, both spoken and written
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
