We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mushroom Grower to join our clients agricultural team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete mushroom cultivation process, from compost preparation and crop management to harvesting and quality control. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, mix, and pasteurize mushroom compost using appropriate cultivation methods.
- Select and prepare compost materials, including straw, fertilizers, and other required ingredients.
- Monitor and maintain optimal growing conditions such as temperature, humidity, ventilation, irrigation, and airflow.
- Carry out all stages of mushroom cultivation, including spawning, casing, crop maintenance, and harvesting.
- Identify and manage mushroom diseases, pests, and contamination to ensure healthy crop production.
- Perform routine crop care, harvesting, grading, packing, and post-harvest handling.
- Inspect mushroom quality to ensure products meet food safety and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of growing rooms, equipment, and work areas.
- Record cultivation activities and production data as required.
- Operate cultivation equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform other farm-related duties as assigned by the Farm Manager or Department Head.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial mushroom cultivation.
- Knowledge of mushroom compost preparation, spawning, casing, and harvesting techniques.
- Understanding of environmental control systems for mushroom production.
- Ability to identify common mushroom diseases and implement preventive measures.
- Physically fit and able to work in humid and temperature-controlled environments.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, when required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality crops.
- Basic English communication skills are an advantage.
- Agricultural Engineer qualification is highly preferred. The successful candidate should be eligible to be sponsored by the establishment as the Agricultural Engineer required to obtain and maintain agricultural licenses issued by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) and the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE).
Benefits
Salary: AED 6,000(Negotiable based on candidate experience), plus free accommodation, and other benefits as per the UAE labor law.
