Position Summary:
This mid-level position is responsible for project management, software requirements, design, development, and maintenance for various projects and products at the Mitsui Trade Service Center (TSC) in Nashville, TN, USA. These items include code written in C# (including ASP.NET and REST APIs), SQL, PowerShell, VBA, JavaScript (including React), ACL Analytics (an auditing software package using a proprietary scripting language) and utilize platforms, such as Azure, SAP, and Freshdesk which require the use of development tools including Azure DevOps, Git, and Visual Studio Code.
This position emphasizes the ability to mentor other developers and manage mid-sized, technical projects with minimal supervision. This includes our Azure PaaS security (e.g., architecture, monitoring, issue resolution) and Azure AI Foundry solutions (e.g., Document Intelligence, GenAI, etc.).
The primary product this position supports is called the Request Management System (RMS) which utilizes the Freshdesk platform (including data pulls via their REST API and custom UI widgets created with their Freshdesk JavaScript SDK) along with Azure services including Function Apps (PowerShell and C#), SQL Database, App Services (React frontend app and ASP.NET/C# API app), API Management Service, Cosmos DB (for JSON storage/update only), Event Grid, Key Vault, and Storage Accounts to assist with transactional data-entry from Freshdesk tickets to SAP via various websites and Azure functions.
This role requires a passion for innovation and a strong interest in understanding innovative technologies and how they can best be leveraged to improve business operations. This position also requires a willingness to pivot quickly and work on new projects that may arise due to new interest from other customers within Mitsui.
This position reports to the Senior Manager under the Director of the Digital Business Process Reengineering Group (“DBPRG”).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Gathers requirements, designs, develops, supports, and tests Azure Functions using ASP .NET/C# and REST APIs
Works with other IT departments inside Mitsui, including those in New York HQ and Tokyo HQ, to brainstorm, design, standardize, implement, manage, review, and test various proposals to create or enhance IT solutions at Mitsui
Monitors automation solutions and platforms for performance or security issues and implements appropriate remediation as needed
Engage with other TSC teams to share knowledge and information related to best practices, standards, and processes
Supports Digital Transformation (“DX”) initiatives
Mentor junior developers and support their technical growth.
Manages mid-sized technical projects with minimal supervision, ensuring successful project delivery
Provides feedback on architecture for projects in planning, design, and development stages
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Required Skills/Competencies:
Knowledge Areas:
Advanced understanding of and experience with core coding concepts including testing, abstracting, modularizing, refactoring, and iterating, especially as it relates to C#
Strong understanding of and experience with building and using REST API web services
Strong understanding of Azure Services (PaaS), especially Function Apps, SQL Databases, App Services, and Cosmos DB
Strong understanding of and experience with importing, cleansing, maintaining, and retrieving data using SQL
Strong understanding of Git concepts and operations (e.g., commits, pull requests, branches, etc.)
Strong understanding of Continuous Integration/Delivery (“CI/CD”) principles
Strong understanding of and a commitment to using Agile best practices
Fundamental understanding of larger architecture principles
Fundamental understanding of the use of Intelligent Document Processing (“IDP”) that includes a variety of technology, such as OCR, ML, GenAI, and Deep Learning (neural networks)
Fundamental understanding of data architecture, structure, and ETL processes as they relate to primary responsibilities and stakeholder requirements

Experience:
Degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar course or equivalent work experience
Minimum two (2) years C# development experience including Azure Functions and LINQ
Minimum two (2) years SQL experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure SQL Database
Minimum one (1) year cloud support experience, preferably on Azure
Minimum one (1) year Python development experience
Minimum one (1) year JavaScript experience including React or similar
