As a National Bank Examiner (Midsize Examiner-in-Charge), you will lead supervisory activities for Regional and Midsize Financial Institutions (RMFI). You will plan and direct programs, manage staff and resources, and serve as an expert advisor to senior leadership on systemic risks. This position is located in RMFI. As a Supervisory National Bank Examiner, you will: Identify policy issues and systemic risks and present those issues and recommended solutions to peers, the Deputy Comptroller (DC) for Regional and Midsize Financial Institutions (RMFI), and other OCC senior supervision officials. Assess emerging businesses and risks, new products or services. Develop and implement innovative supervisory approaches to address new issues for the assigned company. Work with other Regional and Midsize Financial Institutions (RMFI) examiners-in-charge (EICs) and Deputy Comptrollers (DCs) overseeing the RMFI program. Develop systems and programs that focus on achieving OCC's goals and priorities. Serve on task forces assigned to conduct analyses, surveys, or investigations of major issues. Act as an OCC spokesperson with bank executives, officials of Federal and State banking agencies, and banking industry and legislative leaders, to discuss matters of mutual concern, provide industry perspective, and promote cooperation on shared regulatory concerns. Oversee the quality of reports of examination and correspondence for the assigned banking company and provide input to licensing and legal issues.

This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. There are three key documents that contain important information about your rights and obligations. Please read and retain these documents: Noncriminal Justice Applicant's Privacy Rights, for those who undergo an FBI fingerprint-based criminal history record check for personnel vetting, which includes Rap Back, FD-258 Privacy Act Statement - FBI (this is the same statement used when your fingerprints are submitted as part of your background investigation), and SEAD-3-Reporting-U.pdf (dni.gov), (applicable to those who hold a sensitive position or have eligibility for access to classified information). This is a 5-Year rotational position. If selected, you will be required to sign a Rotational Agreement that details conditions. Rotational Agreements. This position requires a Federal Thrift Regulator (FTR) accreditation OR a National Bank Examiner (NBE) commission reflecting the incumbent is authorized to sign Reports of Examinations (ROEs) for federal savings associations. Complete a one-year trial period (unless already completed). Complete a background investigation (unless already completed). Sign a statement that you are voluntarily leaving the competitive service for a position in the excepted service, if applicable. Travel overnight or locally on an occasional basis. Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel. File an Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) and an OCC Financial Disclosure Form.
