D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a National Purchasing Analyst. The right candidate is responsible for data that will assist in purchasing decision making. The focus for the National Purchasing Analyst will be to control and lower our construction costs and increase company profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Support National Purchasing by organizing, analyzing and identifying data relative to the purchasing function of the company
Research internal data to implement cost savings opportunities
Evaluate and participate in selection of supplier’s proposals, costs as well as purchasing performance based on service and availability
Research external data such as a commodity and other pricing for building related materials and services to forecast future impact
Collect, organize and present cost and bid comparisons
Research, analyze and present new product opportunities
Develop purchasing reports, standard and ad hoc for purchasing managers
Evaluate procurement processes, identify wastefulness of resources and make corrections
Liaise with purchasing managers and division purchasing personnel to provide confidential pricing and product information
Analyze all product lines to reduce costs and risks. Devise and implement programs for cost savings
Apply all trends and market conditions to maintain efficient flow of information and materials
Evaluate and recommend suppliers based on price, quality, availability, reliability and technical support
Study market conditions and the competitive environment to identify key cost drivers and develop strategy for purchasing materials
Promote and maintain professional relationships with suppliers
Update and maintain supplier database and contract information
Establish and seek current knowledge of building industry
Attend conferences, trade shows and participate in on-site tours of factories and plants
Research trade journals, publications and journals
- Additional duties as assigned by the VP, Director of National Accounts
Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
Ability to travel overnight
