Description

Sales Executive

Moon Township, PA (Pittsburgh) · In office 4 days a week during training, 3 days after · Travel as needed for shows and customer/agent visits

$50,000–$70,000 base + uncapped commission

About ARL Network

ARL Network is an agent-based, asset-backed transportation network and 3PL: 950 trucks, 40 terminals, a national agent network, and roughly $330 million in annual revenue. Services span freight brokerage, asset-based transport (dry van, flatbed, drayage), and agent recruitment.

The Role

ARL has moved from a cradle-to-grave model to a three-pillar structure: Sales generates new business, a six-person BDR team in Pittsburgh manages every account after the sale, and the carrier team books the trucks. The Sales Executive is the sales pillar. This is a new-business role. Once a customer is closed, the BDR team takes over all load and operational work, and the rep's time goes back to selling.

The goal is a "casino host" approach: one salesperson the customer calls for everything, selling across all of ARL's services (brokerage, asset-based transport, and agent recruitment), with a full team behind them to deliver.

Who We're Looking For

Executive sales experience matters more than logistics experience. ARL will teach the freight business. The core need is a professional salesperson with a strong sales cadence, disciplined follow-up, and the ability to adapt to any audience.

  • A proven process for outreach, and a daily cadence you can describe in detail
  • Competitive, outgoing, comfortable on the phone, adaptable
  • Trusts the three-pillar model. Reps who try to manage operations (pricing, carrier assignment) instead of generating new business do not succeed in this seat
  • Transportation or logistics sales experience is a plus, not a requirement. Candidates from outside logistics are encouraged to apply
  • Lives within commuting distance of our Moon Township office. Four days a week in office through training, then three
What You'll Do
  • Prospect, qualify and close new shipper customers across brokerage and asset-based transport
  • Transition closed customers to the BDR team, then stay engaged to grow the relationship
  • Recruit established trucking operators and working brokers to join ARL as agents
  • Represent ARL at trade shows, conferences, and customer and agent visits
Who You'll Sell To

Mid-size to large shippers, roughly $100M to $999M in annual revenue and 200 to 5,000 employees, with brick-and-mortar U.S. locations: manufacturers, wholesalers, commodity distributors, freight forwarders and 3PLs. Dry van, flatbed, and drayage/containerized freight. Manufactured goods, construction and building products, wholesale goods, import/export containers. Non-hazardous.

Compensation/Benefits
  • $50,000–$70,000 base salary, depending on experience
  • Uncapped commission on four types of sales. Rates are set by the year the customer closed (or the year the agent onboarded) and continue for the life of the account.
  • No existing book of business required
  • Health, dental and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match after one year
Ramp
  • Quarter 0: a full first quarter for onboarding, customer training and pipeline building with no value expectation
  • Value targets then step up each quarter through the first year: $15,000 in Q1, $30,000 in Q2, $45,000 in Q3, $60,000 in Q4, and $60,000 a quarter after that
  • Business you close generates value for you for the remainder of that quarter and the following four quarters
What We Provide
  • Leads from our sales intelligence tools (GenLogs, Revenue Vessel), dormant-account revivals, trade shows and marketing campaigns, in addition to your own prospecting
  • Live market pricing on every quote (Greenscreens, DAT, FreightWaves SONAR) and a CRM built in-house
  • Onboarding with the BDR team and the carrier team so you understand the full process flow before you sell it
  • A sales leader with ownership in the company. In September 2026, our VP of Sales & Marketing and three other operating leaders took over ownership of ARL from its founder
