Boost is an associate degree completion program based on the successful CUNY Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) model and is designed to help students overcome financial, academic, and personal barriers to timely graduation.
The Part-Time NC Boost Program Support Specialist provides recruitment, outreach, student support, and administrative assistance to prospective and current Boost students. This position serves as a welcoming point of contact, helping students navigate program requirements, complete next steps, and connect with appropriate college resources.
This part-time role primarily works daytime hours, with some flexibility for evening or weekend assignments as needed. Hours are expected to range from approximately 10 to 20 per week based on programming needs and funding availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
Serve as a first point of contact for prospective and current NC Boost students by phone, email, text, virtual communication, and in person.
Provide accurate information regarding NC Boost eligibility, benefits, expectations, application steps, program requirements, and upcoming activities.
Review NC Boost applications for completeness and conduct follow-up with prospective students regarding missing information and required next steps.
Support ongoing recruitment and outreach efforts, including phone and email outreach, classroom visits, information sessions, tabling, orientations, and other student engagement activities.
Assist students with navigating the NC Boost application, onboarding process, college systems, and student resources.
Provide proactive outreach and reminders to current students regarding program requirements, registration, events, appointments, deadlines, and other
important milestones.
Maintain accurate records of student outreach, application progress, participation, and assigned activities using college systems and program
tracking tools.
Provide general information about college services and make appropriate referrals to Academic Advising, Financial Aid, Career Services, tutoring,
wellness resources, and other departments.
Support NC Boost orientations, group meetings, workshops, recruitment activities, celebrations, and other program events, including setup, check-in,
attendance tracking, and follow-up.
Assist with student-facing communications, forms, quick guides, presentations, and other program materials as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality, participate in required training and meetings, and perform other duties as assigned to support effective NC Boost program
operations.

Education and/or Experience
Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to build positive, professional relationships with students.
Demonstrated reliability, organization, professionalism, and follow-through.
Ability to manage student outreach, application follow-up, administrative tasks, and changing priorities.
Basic proficiency with office technology, email, spreadsheets, databases, and internet-based systems, with the ability to learn college systems and NC Boost processes.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle student information.
Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
Previous experience in higher education, education, customer service, administrative support, recruitment, outreach, human services, or another
student-facing environment preferred.
Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills preferred.
